The Tempurpedic Pro-Adapt is made with first-generation, light-density foam that uses body heat to mold to the sleeper. It provides virtually no support and actually increases counter-pressure as the sleep surface molds.

Laying on his side, we can see significant amount of pressure on the shoulder (colored in red), which can lead to joint compression and muscular stress.

The low density, first generation foam used in this Tempurpedic Mattress fails to provide proper spinal support for this subject, and is shown by the dark blue areas above the hips in both back and side sleeping positions. Even more alarming is the severe amount of counter pressure on the shoulder blade while laying on his back, and his shoulder and hip while laying on his side. While laying on her side there is an unhealthy amount of counter-pressure on her shoulder. Along with the lack of support, there is an unhealthy amount of pressure on the hip and shoulder, localized pressure above 40.0 mmHg cm² is considered unhealthy. The Coil/Innerspring system that is used in this Simmons BeautyRest Mattress fails to provide proper spinal support for this subject. This is shown by the dark blue areas found above the hips when the subject is laying on both his back and side. When the Majestic Fusion Topper was placed on top of the BeautyRest Mattress, the severe counter-pressure on the shoulder was returned back to a healthy level of 26.7 mmHg cm² an almost 55 point decrease. Throughout the night discomfort will develop in the joints, along with back pain, and potential circulation issues.

When the Majestic Fusion Topper is added the dark blue areas are significantly decreased, showing an increased amount of stabilizing spinal support. The pressure relieving capabilities of the Fusion Topper reduce the levels below the healthy limit of 40.0 mmHg cm² to 35.2, a 14 point decrease. Discomfort in the joints will be significantly reduced and the spine along with the hips will be properly supported for a more restful, restorative night’s sleep.
